Motion detectors of the DD1000 series feature a unique range-controlled radar technology patented by UTC Fire & Security, which allows the installer to set a clearly defined detection limit for radar technology. The radar is used to determine the distance between the sensor and moving objects. Thus, false alarms can be effectively avoided by movements outside the detection range. Each movement detector has 4 adjustable radar ranges, which can be adapted to the specific local conditions in which the sensor is to be mounted by means of DIP switches. The radar technology uses the 5.8GHz frequency range and does not affect any WIFI networks. The use of active infrared and radar technology results in excellent anti-masking functionality for monitoring the motion detector from inside and outside. The radar verification prevents unintentional AM alarms, eg by insects. In the 'Advanced' setting, an AM alarm is maintained until the effective reason for an anti-masking condition (eg spray, tape, etc.) has been removed. Even partial coverage - beyond the EN Grad III standard - is detected by the detector in the 'Advanced' setting.
